Terms of Use
These terms cover Pantry Scale on Android, on a future iOS app, and on the website. They apply to people in Canada, the United States, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Pantry Scale is the name of the app. It is published by an individual in London, Ontario, Canada, not by a corporation. Last updated September 29, 2026.
The app
Pantry Scale stores recipes, scales them, builds a shopping list, and estimates nutrition from the foods you log. It is a kitchen tool, not a medical device, not a diet program, and not a substitute for professional advice.
Not advice
Nutrition numbers are estimates. They can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. They are not medical, dietary, or allergy advice, and they are not a diagnosis or a treatment. For allergies, intolerances, or a medical diet, read the package and check with a qualified professional.
Cooking has ordinary risks, including heat, knives, and food safety. You are responsible for temperatures, storage, and whether a dish is safe to eat.
Your recipes
You keep the rights to recipes, photos, and notes you add. You give Pantry Scale permission to store and display them so the app can work, including on your other devices if you sign in, and with a household if you share one. That permission ends when you delete the content or the account, except for copies we must keep for a legal duty. Only add what you have the right to store. Pantry Scale is not affiliated with any other recipe site or app.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity on an account you sign into. You can delete the account in Settings. Deletion removes the signed-in copy of the kitchen. It does not by itself refund a purchase or cancel a subscription.
Price and renewal
A free account can store a limited number of recipes. Import is not charged per use. Premium is optional. The store shows the price, the billing period, and the total before you pay.
A monthly or yearly plan renews for the same period, at the price shown in the store, until you cancel. The yearly plan may start with a one-month free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the store charges the yearly price and the plan renews each year. A paying household gets 40 careful reads a month. Those reads send the recipe you submit to Google so it can be structured. There is no lifetime purchase. The store charges you. Pantry Scale does not take your card number.
Cancel in the store account that bought it, at least 24 hours before the period ends if that store requires it. On Google Play, open Subscriptions. On an iPhone, open Settings, then Subscriptions. Canceling stops the next charge. It does not erase time you have already paid for, unless the store refunds it.
If you are a consumer in Ontario, the rest of Canada, the United States, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you keep the cancellation, refund, and withdrawal rights those laws give you. Store rules do not replace a right the law says cannot be waived. For digital content that starts immediately, the store may ask you to accept that a withdrawal right ends once the purchase is supplied. Follow the store’s refund flow for that purchase.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app, try to break its accounts, or upload anything illegal. We may suspend an account that does. If the law requires notice or a chance to export first, we will give it, unless we must stop the account immediately to prevent harm or obey a law.
Liability
The app is provided as-is, except for rights a consumer law does not let us exclude. Recipes can import incorrectly. Estimates can be off. A linked website can change or block a page. To the extent the law allows, Pantry Scale is not liable for spoiled food, a missed diet target, lost recipes, or lost profits.
Where a cap is allowed, our total liability for a claim is the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. This cap does not apply to liability the law does not let us limit, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or a consumer right in Ontario, the United States, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom.
Stores
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google is not responsible for the app or its content. If you download it from the Apple App Store, Apple is not responsible for it, and Apple has no obligation to provide support. Those stores are third-party beneficiaries of this store section only. Questions about the app come to Pantry Scale, not to Google or Apple.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply, except where a consumer law in your place of residence gives you a right that cannot be waived. A consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom keeps the protection of the mandatory laws of their country of residence. A consumer may bring a claim in the courts of Ontario or in the courts of their home province, state, or country, where the law gives them that choice.
